If you have an old tire lying around, this is the perfect way to spruce it up into something not only beautiful but completely functional for the home. While it’s hard to imagine something as drab as a car tire being transformed into something unrecognizable, Nicole Kow shows us how onecan become a shabby-chic ottoman with a little spray paint, wood and rope. If you have a tire but don’t need a stool, try turing it into this creative backyard flower planter.
First, Nicolemeasures and cuts out two circles of plywood to fit the hollow part of the tire. She then drills the wood on either side. Next, she glues the rope onto the wood in a spiral design. Next, she adds the mounting plates. Lastly, she sprays the tire a trendy mint green color. To make this project, you’ll need to know how to use a drill. If you don’t have a saw at home, you can get your wood circles cut at the local hardware store or a Home Depot.
This cheap, easy DIY project is a great way to save money on furniture while doing something nice for the environment by recycling old materials!
